Well ....Its Not A Bucket Of Water...But It Will Do

I would not mind seeing the ranks of the unemployed swelled by just 1 more if this turns out to be true and she does decide to pull the plug. With the coming departure of one of Pelosi's flying monkeys,  Barney Frank and now .... maybe..... the wicked witch of the west ....be still my heart

Pelosi’s daughter: My mom wants out

I feel about this the way I felt about Alan Grayson’s defeat. On the one hand: Oh yes. On the other hand: Don’t you want her to be there when ObamaCare gets repealed?

Personally, I blame Obama’s aloofness.

Alexandra Pelosi, daughter of House Minority Leader and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, told Big Government this week that her mother wants to leave Congress–and that she remains in Washington only at the behest of her campaign donors.

Three Years Under Obama

This You Tube does a nice but incomplete jobs of highlighting just some of obama's victories and their effects on the American people. Harsh but the truth as we know it.

Into The Weeds

Last night I posted a blurb about a very short story I ran across on P.J. Media and I naturally or at least in my mind I naturally leapt to the conclusion that since it concerned perjury and the Justice Department they were speaking of Fast and Furious. I was wrong in that assumption. It seems perjury is all up in the Justice Department, at all levels. Link below....its an interesting and revealing read

The Justice Department Condones Perjury … Again

A career employee in the Voting Section of Justice’s Civil Rights Division has confessed to committing perjury, sources say.  The employee, Stephanie Celandine Gyamfi, reportedly told investigators from the Inspector General’s Office that she perjured herself during an inquiry into Justice Department leaks during the previous administration. Despite the admission, she has not been fired for criminal malfeasance. Indeed, it appears she has not been disciplined in any meaningful way at all.

Nails It

Some of us who are political wonks have been watching this fight over the extension of the payroll tax cuts but for the general public who has neither the time nor the inclination to follow the obscure working of both houses of Congress this letter or comment sums it up nicely ....in my opinion. Who ever the guy or girl who wrote this is they do a nice job of it.

The speech John Boehner should have given:

Mr. President, we need your leadership on this. The Republican House, with bipartisan support, prepared and passed a bill which was what you claimed to want, a one-year extension of the payroll tax cuts, and sent it over to the Senate. For reasons unclear to me, Senator Reid and the Democratically-controlled Senate reduced the extension to two months.

We’re confused Mr. President; you asked for a one year extension, but now that we’ve given you that you come out and demagogue our bill, apparently seeking political gain rather than what’s best for America, and seem satisfied with a meaningless two month extension instead. Which is it Mr. President? Please tell the American people what it is you want.

Mr. President, a two month extension is meaningless. More importantly, it is also irresponsible, short-sighted, and unworkable. Stop campaigning for a few hours Mr. President, and start governing. Call Senator Reid and the other Democrats who are refusing to do the responsible thing, and ask them to do the right thing and pass this bill.

You claim to want to cut taxes for the middle class; which bill does the better job of that Sir, the one that creates uncertainty and reduces taxes by about $165, or the one that ensures that taxpayers will receive the tax cut for a full year and reduces the tax burden of the average American by about $1,000? In addition, the House bill pays for these cuts by reducing wasteful government spending elsewhere, and brings forth the Keystone Project, a job-creating energy project which requires no taxpayer funding and which will help our economy by creating thousands of new, good-paying jobs and will also reduce our dependence on unfriendly nations for our energy needs.

Give the American People an early Christmas present Mr. President, and get the Democrats in the Senate to pass this bill. You know it’s the right thing to do – and it is, after all, what you said you wanted.

Is This Hype ?

It surprises me how many people who have not heard of this story ....2 U.S. police officers dead .....hundreds of Mexicans citizens dead and all from guns the Obama Justice allowed to walk across the border and yet the Media sits on the story largely ignoring it. So I wonder what this means or if it means anything.

Breaking Bombshell News on DOJ Perjury Imminent

I have heard that PJ Media will run a story in the next 36 hours revealing bombshell instances of lying under penalty of perjury at the Justice Department.  I hear it involves criminal acts, and also, strangely, implicates congressional redistricting among other matters.  Stay tuned to PJ Media for details.

Beware Noble Intent

It has been pointed out with such frequency that liberal policies fail that it amazes me that it continues to shock people when they do fail but for some reason it does. We can look around the country and in instance after instance of spectacular failure we usually don't have to look far to find the guilty. If we are speaking of the failure of states like California , Illinois, Rhode Island or a cities like Detroit, Washington D.C.,Newark or Harrisburg we speak of democrat failure. Their failure however is not just confined to just real estate. If one was to objectively look at the plight of African American's in the United States it would not be to much of a reach to suggest that the liberal welfare entitlement mentality and their cult of victimization has brought African American's in the U.S to their collective knees. The story below with link highlights in stark detail just how massive and costly that failure has been to them and our society as a whole. Since the event of LBJ'S Great Society we have spent 16 trillion of the nation treasure, to what purpose? By any objective standard the ideology and programs which sprang forth as a result of that concept has proven to be huge, costly and even deadly failures. And yet, while the evidence of the failure of these programs fill our prisons, our morgues, our rehabs, but not our schools or universities even questioning the wisdom of these policies and programs will earn one the label RACIST.Well folks, I don't care what they say but I am pretty sure the emperor is indeed naked. The moral of the story is pretty simple beware a liberal with noble intent, nothing good will come of it.

Immigration Enforcement Works...Who da Thunk It

It seems that in Alabama a liberal canard is being put to rest once again. All of us have heard it ....it goes something like this ..." They are just doing the jobs we won't do "...Well it seems that like most liberal theories, that is all it was, a theory. Alabama finds itself in the enviable position of seeing a sharp drop in its unemployment rate. In June of this year Alabama passed a anti ILLEGAL ALIEN law that has been deemed the toughest in the nation. The Alabama law took affect in Sept of this year and since taking affect the states unemployment rate has fallen from 9.8 % in Sept to 8.7 % today. In some counties within the state the fall has been even more dramatic falling from close to 10 % to 6.9 % today. Well as one might expect the obama administration has began a push to overturn the Alabama law as it has done in several other states ( New Mexico, South Carolina, Georgia and Arizona ) The Justice Department has filed suit in Federal court to halt enforcement of Alabama's new law claiming it infringes on Federal jurisdiction concerning immigration, The Justice Department position is that it is solely the purview of the Federal government to enforce immigration laws or as we have all to often seen ....not enforce immigration laws and often seeming to go out of their way to ignore immigration violations. And it creates jobs which oddly seems to be to obama like Kryptonite is to Superman something to be avoided at all costs.

How Can Obama Win ?

A new AP-GfK Poll says that 52 % of American believe that Obama does not deserve to be re elected. With support for Obama waning in all quarters, its difficult to see how he can win. He has lost independents, rumor has it he is writing off white voters as a lost cause, support among Hispanic voters has fallen sharply, as it has with the 18 - 29 age group with only 30 % believing Obama can be re elected, even within the African American community support has fallen into the mid to low 80 % range. So it begs the question ... is Obama fighting a losing 1 billion dollar battle ?

Adding to Obama's difficulty is that in key states, those states, some of which unexpectedly flipped for Obama in 08 is that voters who identify themselves as Democrat is down 4 % while Republican identification is up 5 %. Voter enthusiasm is up within the Republican rank and file and down with Democrats. If one looks at those states which can be said to belong safely to R or D it shakes out in the Electoral College as some thing like this. Republicans have 151 electoral votes that are supposed solid gets with another 40 as leaners, adding up to 191. Democrats have 172 as solid, with 24 as leaners adding up to 196. There are 12 states which are considered swing states ( Pa, Oh, Va, Fla, Co, NV, NM, Iowa, WI., Mich, NH, NC ) and their electoral votes add up to 151 and that is where the fight is going to be. The problem is that Obama trails the top 2 Republican front runners ( Gingrich and Romney ) in these swing states. That makes it an uphill fight for Obama. The 4 states which could give the election to Republicans are Pa, Fla, Oh, and Va. There are a whole host of combinations that could do so as well but these states will do so with the least amount of muss or fuss. The big one is Fla with 29 electoral votes if that falls Republican, we will be a long way toward the 79 we need to win. I like the odds.

HUH .... ?

Every once in a while you run across something that ...well.... the stupid just leaps out at you.  This is one of those times. It seems the good Mayor of New Haven, Conn finding himself awash in the spirit of the season or something has decided to make the effort to enable illegal aliens to vote in his cities elections. Anyone still wondering why we can't get a handle on this problem ....well you need not wonder any longer. It is actions like this, by a host of city governments across the country which help to feed and fuel this problem

Republican House Passes Payroll Tax Extension

Well the Republicans in the House called Obama's bluff and passed the extension to the payroll tax cut. Now the question is.... will it go to the place where house bills go to die..... Harry Ried's desk drawer or will he bring it to the floor. I suspect it is getting a mite crowded in there with all the other bills that have found there way into the drawer but there is no way Harry is going to allow this to be brought to the floor. So what will he do ....allow the Republicans to shout from the rooftops that it was the democrats who screwed the middle class or do they have a rabbit in the hat. Its going to be fun to watch.

What Goes Around ...Comes Around Or Elections Have Consequences

Well they finished their redistricting efforts in Harrisburg and as expected there is outrage from the left and screams of " UNFAIR ". I do what I usually do when some liberal/democrat/progressive starts yelling about fairness concerning the election process on any level..... I laughed. I have long held the belief that democrats want fair elections as much as I want genital warts. Without looking up the exact numbers I think pretty close to 10 % - 15 % of the entire congress is quite openly gerrymandered to hell and gone and for democrats and in an especially neat trick the courts agree that we should discriminate to fight discrimination ..... If you think I'm wrong explain to me the Congressional Black Caucus ( 43 seats ) . One of my hobbies in the past had been the study of democrat Congressional Black Caucus district shapes. One of my absolute all time favorites was NC - 12 which for great distances was no wider than interstate 85 and ran for more than 100 miles along that interstate to give a largely black ( 66 % ) district to Rep Melvin Watt.   In any case someone said not long ago and I quote " Elections Have Consequences " meaning to the victors goes the spoils, well we won.

New Stench ....Same As The Old Stench

Its not often you see a group proudly proclaim to the world  WE ARE STINKERS  but by God they did just that at Pittston area. The Pittston area school district repealed its anti nepotism policy after just 11 short months, I have to assume the strain was just to much for them. Its hard to pretend to be something your not and I guess the school board members decided to stop fighting it ... * SHRUG *...  To Thine Own Self Be True and they are. Most residents of Luzerne county just assume our elected officials have their hands in someone's pocket looking for loose change and as the events of the last several years have shown we're generally correct in that assumption. The depth and breath of corruption in Luzerne county specifically and the region generally is truly mind boggling, judges, county commissioners, state reps , school board members, business men. I know that nepotism is not illegal nor is it corruption but its close enough to being a duck to call it a duck, so a duck it is ....in my humble opinion.

The county had recently announced that Republicans are gaining ground on the democrats in voter registration in the county. When I saw that I laughed as I suspected in wasn't so much that we had gained ground as it was the feds had sent so many democrats to prison thus leaving them unable to register to vote or to vote. The point being you simply cannot have one party in sole control of the government apparatus or you wind up with what we have had in the county. I have not looked at the make up of the Pittston area board to see if it is democrat or Republican or even if it has any Republicans on it ....didn't figure I needed to. Elected Republicans in Luzerne county are a lot like Unicorns ....pretty thin on the ground. You hear about them but they are seldom seen in these parts. Every once in awhile you have to flush the toilet folks and we are long past that time here in Luzerne county.  In any case it won't be long before we have a hire in Pittston area that has the same last name as a school board member who quite naturally will be the most qualified and of course the school board member with the same last name of the prospective hire will abstain from voting for the prospective hire....just to avoid any appearance of impropriety ....* GRIN *

Two steps back in Pittston Area

Put Up Or Shut Up Harry

Well I have been following the tiff over the payroll tax renewal in Congress. The Republicans apparently will send a bill to the senate that, as with a good many bills the Republicans have sent will be DOA and will join the growing stack of bills in Harry's desk drawer. What is it Harry does not like you ask ....well, in the bill the Republicans will send up are provisions which will allow the XL pipeline to be built from Canada to Texas. It also will renew unemployment benefits but limits then to just over 1 year at 59 weeks and includes the Doc fix which will prevent the 27.4 % Medicare reimbursement cut to Doctors due to take affect on Jan 1,.

The pipeline will create 10's of thousands of jobs and bring much needed oil to the U.S. and if not approved Canada will build the pipeline but will build it to their West coast ....to supply China. Personally it seems like a no brainer which I thought most democrats in Congress having met at least the minimum standard of having said organ would have got it but as usual, I over estimated them ....again. I suspect the reduction of unemployment benefits from close to 2 years to just over a year troubles them as well and the Doc fix would likely have been approved by democrats in any case but because its attached to this bill it seems a good many elderly may well lose their Doctors next year. They tell us all the time how they are all about jobs and the middle class well Harry, here's your chance ...put up or shut up.

Who Knew ...Democrats May Have Engaged In Election Fraud ?

There is a reason why democrats have an existential fear of any efforts to take control of a voting process that is rife with fraud from top to bottom. They oppose any and all efforts for states to implement voter I.D. laws. They support groups like ACORN and insist that despite the evidence to the contrary that ACORN was not engaged in voter registration and yes, voter fraud in state after state and city after city. They were largely behind Motor Voter which has allowed massive absentee ballot fraud in almost every state. The Obama Department of Justice has flatly refused to require states to purge their voter rolls of the dead and relocated voters and now there is this.

Indiana 2008 Presidential Primary Election Fraud Probe Heats Up

Published December 07, 2011
| FoxNews.com
Charity Rorie, a mother of four, sat in her Mishawaka, Ind., kitchen, stunned that her name appeared on a 2008 Democratic presidential primary petition for then-candidate Barack Obama.
"That's not my signature," she told Fox News, saying her signature is "absolutely" a fake. She also said she was troubled someone forged both her signature and that of her husband, Jeff, and listed personal details such as their address and birthdays."It's scary," Rorie said. "It's shocking. It definitely is illegal. A lot of people have already lost faith in politics and the whole realm of politics, so that just solidifies all of our worries and concerns."

Robert Hunter Jr. said his name was faked, too."I did not sign for Barack Obama," he told Fox News, adding his signature supporting the then-Illinois senator's effort to get on the primary ballot was also a forgery.
As he examined the Obama petition he held in his hands, Hunter pointed out that "I always put 'Junior' after my name, every time ... there's no 'Junior' there." He said the signature on the petition looks "very close" to his real one, but it clearly is not."My wife and I actually signed a petition for Hillary Clinton," he said. "I am an Obama fan, but not in the primaries I wasn't."

The prospect that theirs are two of an estimated 150 signatures that may have been forged on the petitions has raised the question of whether President Obama actually reached the legitimate number of signatures needed to be placed on the ballot in Indiana. Under state law, presidential candidates need to file 500 signatures from each of the state's nine congressional districts. Indiana election officials say that in St. Joseph County, the Obama campaign qualified with 534 signatures; Clinton's camp had 704. The certified signatures were never challenged.

Holder Has To Go

It seems that the ATF did indeed use their Operation Fast and Furious to advance the issue of gun control. A story being run by CBS's Sharyl Attkisson reveals that the ATF used long guns sales to Mexican drug cartels to advance increased supervision of the very gun shops they used as a front for these sales. Holder has to go and we need to know if Obama was briefed on this as well. We know that there was information concerning Fast and Furious given to officials within the White House. The question is how high up did that information percolate. At the very least Holder needs to go and there needs to be a clean sweep of the ATF and the Justice Dept. They knew these guns were going to Mexico and given the climate in Mexico, than and now, they knew these guns would be killing Mexican citizens. That ladies and gentleman is murder pure and simple. If you commit a crime and there are deaths during the commission of that crime, that by law is murder, at least that is my understanding of the law. This was murder and it now seems it was murder to further a political agenda here in the U.S. Holder, in my humble opinion needs to be fired and perhaps charged at least as an accessory to murder.

Documents: ATF used "Fast and Furious" to make the case for gun regulations

 By
Sharyl Attkisson
On April 25, 2011, ATF announced plans to implement Demand Letter 3. The National Shooting Sports Foundation is suing the ATF to stop the new rules. It calls the regulation an illegal attempt to enforce a law Congress never passed. ATF counters that it has reasonably targeted guns used most often to "commit violent crimes in Mexico, especially by drug gangs."

I Think Obama Has An Identity Crisis

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that Obama seems to want to be anyone but himself. He has compared himself to Lincoln ...Teddy Roosevelt ...Ronald Reagan all Republicans.

Hoisted On Their Own Petard.

Every once in awhile you read a story that makes you smile. This week I have been blessed with 2 of them. A good many folks don't know that most of the evils of slavery and its aftermath, the Civil War, the KKK, Jim Crow, the Black Codes, lynchings were products of the Democrat party. Well I guess someone else remembered and decided to do something about it. Wonder how much we will hear about this in the media, I'm thinking ....not a lot.

Black Community Activist Sues Racist Political Party

Wayne Perryman, a black minister, and community activist, has filed a legal brief for a class action lawsuit, against one of the two major political parties in the United States, for its long history of racism and discrimination.

The plaintiffs, who refer to the defendants as the “Father of Racism,” allege that as an organization, the Democratic Party has consistently refused to apologize for the role they played in slavery, Jim Crow and for other subsequent racist practices from 1792 to 2011. Mrs. Frances P. Rice, the Chair of the National Black Republican Association is also a named plaintiff in the class action lawsuit.

A would-be mugger on Chicago’s Southwest Side picked on the wrong person — a mixed-martial artist — and ended up with two black eyes and a gunshot wound to the ankle, the police say.

Police say 24-year-old Anthony Miranda walked up to a parked car near 55th and Kenneth around 11:30 p.m. Friday and asked the driver — whose identity was not released by police — for a lighter.

When the driver said he didn’t have one, the police say Miranda pulled a handgun on the driver and demanded money. After getting some, he ordered the driver out of the car, Officer John Mirabelli said.

The mugging victim was able to get control of the gun, and the two wrestled, with Miranda accidentally firing his gun and shooting himself in the ankle during the fight, Mirabelli said.

The victim, who told police he’s a mixed-martial artist, held Miranda down until the police and found Miranda with a face full of cuts and two black eyes. He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital for treatment.

Miranda, a convicted felon, was charged with armed robbery and aggravated discharge of a firearm and rdered held on $350,000 bail. Records show he has several convictions, including one for a residential burglary.

Liberal Grinch's ...a pox on all their houses

Well its that time of year again, frost in the air, colored lights, sales and Santa. With those you know sure as hell, without fail, the season also brings the return of the liberal Grinch's who hate Christmas. It never fails, there're like heartburn or foot itch as soon as the weather turns cold they pop out like Jack in the Box's with a bad attitude and a hate for all things Christmas ....Christmas trees ...they hate them ....Christmas decorations ....they hate them. They hate the word Christmas, Christmas cards ... lights.....candy canes. In fact I am convinced that seeing Rudolph tied to the hood of one of their Prius. might be the only time they would agree with hunting. The mere sight of a baby Jesus can drive legions of them insane.  Below is one of their latest efforts

Another Kanjorski Fail at Abound Solar ?

While watching Fox tonight there was a brief mention of Abound Solar for most folks Abound Solar will be just another failed Solar panel firm propped up with hundreds of millions from the Obama administration. If speculation that Abound may be facing bankruptcy turns out to be true this will not be the first time the Kanjorski family has profited from a failed recipient of Government funding. For the residents of NEPA, Abound Solar is the brief resting place of Russell Kanjorski, nephew of former Congressman Paul Kanjorski. Russell Kanjorski, along with several other family members ran Cornerstone Technologies LLC another failed firm which had received millions of federal dollars before declaring bankruptcy in 2006. So for some here in NEPA this story will be a topic of some interest.

After hearing Abound Solar mentioned on Fox I became curious and began to google around to see if there was any merits to the impression left with me that Abound was on the way out taking with it millions more of tax payers money. I discovered that the top 3 executives of Abound Solar including Russell Kanjorski have recently left Abound. So far that is about all I have discovered that can be considered factual but there are rumors and given the recent rash of failed solar firms that have been supported by our tax dollars it would not surprise me to learn that Kanjorski jumped ship just in the nick of time. If Abound is close to failing will they try to remain afloat until after the elections in 12 to avoid giving the DOE and Obama another black eye. There is another item of interest concerning Abound. In the  400 million plus DOE loan guarantee to Abound, it seems that another Obama bundler is a very large investor in Abound, billionaire Pat Stryker has given or raised tens of thousands to and for the Obama campaign

Here We Go Again

Well the elections are over, the good Mayor of Wilkes Barre has another 4 years in office and the feds seem to be taking an interest in the Hotel Sterling project that neatly lifted a cool 6 million ( at least )  from tax payers pockets. We here in Luzerne county have watched the feds run through county government from top to bottom turning a good many elected officials into former elected officials and felons. However Wilkes Barre city had largely been spared much to the surprise of a good many of us who live in Wilkes Barre and follow city politics. That seems to be changing and I won't speculate as to what, who or why the feds decided to start flipping rocks in Wilkes Barre to see what scurries out but I am going to stock up on popcorn.

He Came ...He Saw ...He Spoke ....He left

Well the President came to visit us bitter clingers ( his words ) here in North Eastern Pa today. It was his usual its not my fault, its the Republicans fault speech. I won't go into the details but suffice it to say it was nothing new. Here's a link to his speech on C -SPAN

http://www.c-span.org/Events/President-Obama-Presses-for-Payroll-Tax-Cut-Extension/10737425872/

And I missed this completely until a friend pointed it out but one has to ask where Bob Casey was while Obama was in his hometown. ...WHY ?

Drill Baby Drill

Its not often we here in the United States get good news concerning energy production but that may slowly be changing despite the best efforts of the Obama administration to curtail all forms of carbon based energy production. Here in NEPA ( North Eastern PA ) UGI our local natural gas supplier has just announced a 9 % reduction in its rates. This rate reduction is likely due to the Marcellus Shale production in our local area and other large gas finds nationally. Now it seems that we are seeing an increase in our exports of refined oil products as noted by a Wall Street Journal article
.

The Wall Street Journal reports:

So long as the U.S. remains the world’s biggest net importer of crude oil, currently taking in nine million barrels per day, it isn’t likely to become energy independent anytime soon. Yet its growing presence as an overall exporter of fuels made from crude gives it greater influence in the global energy market.
If the trend toward net exports persists, it could also influence the national political debate over U.S. energy policy, which has been driven primarily by concerns about upheaval in the Middle East over the past decade. The independence of the U.S. from foreign oil sources has long been a lightning-rod issue in Washington, one further inflamed by last year’s oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Supporters of off-shore drilling have used the desire for independence to push their cause, setting up a battle with environmental groups and others who prefer a shift away from carbon-based fuels.
The growth in exports is part of a “transformation of the energy system,” says Ed Morse, global head of commodity research at Citigroup Inc. “It’s the beginning signs of a process that will continue for the next decade and will point toward energy independence.”
The reversal raises the prospect of the U.S. becoming a major provider of various types of energy to the rest of the world, a status that was once virtually unthinkable. The U.S. already exports vast amounts of coal, and companies such as Exxon Mobil Corp. are pursuing or exploring plans to liquefy newly abundant natural gas and send it overseas.
Now if we were just allowed to explore and produce our own energy reserves which increasingly seem to be far more abundant than prior estimates have indicated. We could retain billions of dollars that we have been sending overseas and further increase revenues by creating jobs and expanding the tax base. If we were allowed.

Its Time To Buy

I've been following this issue for some time and in about 30 days you will no longer be able to buy the 100 watt light bulbs and will have to buy those nasty little Mercury ladened over priced bulbs that environmentalists love so much. I think its time for a Home Depot run.

EDITORIAL: Time to stock up on light bulbs

Government ban on mercury-free fixtures takes effect Jan. 1

Tea Party vs.Occupy Wall Street or Democrat vs. Republican

I can't sum it up any better than this video by Richard Epstein concerning the difference between the Tea Party and the OWS movement and by proxy between Democrats and Republicans. We have reached the end of the road as far as the progressive model is concerned. Its going to take time for the majority to come to that understanding and its going to be painful but it will come. Its merely a question of how big a thud and hole we are going to make when we hit at the bottom of this cliff and that it seems to me is what we are fighting over now, the size of the crater we are going to leave. ..... * SHRUG *

White Guy Go Away

There is a op - ed in the New York Times today in which the democrat strategy for the 2012 and apparently all future elections is supposedly laid out. It says in essence NO WHITE GUYS NEED APPLY. It seems the democrats have decided they have created a large enough entitlement class that they no longer see the need to even make the effort to attract white working class voters. So who is the new democrat constituency you ask, it is and I quote  " Seizing the New Progressive Common Ground,  describes instead a new progressive coalition made up of young people, Hispanics, unmarried women, and affluent suburbanites " that quote is from a paper co authored by James Carville. Does this strategy come as a surprise to anyone and did anyone else notice that it made no reference to African Americans. They vote for democrats at over 90 %  and for Obama at over 95 %   so I understand them not mentioning African Americans. There is no need to wine and dine them, they are to coin a phrase, a sure thing.

We have watched the democrat party essentially build the framework for this strategy for decades and now they believe it will bare fruit. With as much as 51 % of working American paying no federal income taxes, with the largest number of Americans on food stamps than anytime before in our history, with near historic numbers on unemployment or under employed or who have just given up I wouldn't bet against it. I have long since come to the conclusion that paranoia concerning politics in this country is less paranoia and more often than not just a insight into future events. This strategy explains the 1965 immigration act and the absolute loathing of anyone in the democrat party to restrict illegal immigration in anyway and the fanaticism of democrats when it came to minority set asides or it would if I were paranoid. You might find the op ed a interesting  read ... link below.

Barney Frank Gone ?

Well rumors are swirling that Barney Frank has decided to retire. My thoughts are ....YIPPIE

UPDATE....It just came across my local news media I guess that moves it from rumor to almost fact

http://politicalwire.com/archives/2011/11/28/frank_will_not_run_again.html

Frank Will Not Run Again

Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) will not run for re-election for a 17th term. He'll hold a press conference at 1 pm ET to discuss his decision.

A close adviser tells the Boston Globe that "the new district in which Frank would have had to run next year was a major factor in his decision. While it retained his Newton stronghold, it was revised to encompass more conservative towns while Frank also lost New Bedford, a blue-collar city where had invested a lot of time and become a leading figure in the region's fisheries debate."

Roll Call: "Some possible candidates for his newly redrawn seat include City Year co-founder Alan Khazei, who recently dropped his Senate primary bid, and former Chairwoman of the Brookline Board of Selectman Deborah Goldberg.

Things Just Became A Bit More Interesting in New Hampshire

Currently Mitt Romney leds by a very wide margin in New Hampshire. Will this make a difference for Gingrich

For President, Newt Gingrich

  • Newt Gingrich talks about issues during a stop at the New Hampshire Union Leader on Monday.

    (DAVID LANE/UNION LEADER)

This newspaper endorses Newt Gingrich in the New Hampshire Presidential Primary.

America is at a crucial crossroads. It is not going to be enough to merely replace Barack Obama next year. We are in critical need of the innovative, forward-looking strategy and positive leadership that Gingrich has shown he is capable of providing.

P.S. Newt is up in Iowa according to a ARG poll. So what happens if Newt does indeed take Iowa and then a very strong second in New Hampshire or even a 1'st place finish ? Will the rotund lady be singing ?

Chris Matthews Hints Media Leans Left

I read the headline and thought now there's some breaking news that the rest of the world has missed. On Fridays MS NBC program Hardball of which Mr.Mattews is the host casually dropped that he indeed thinks the media may lean a wee bit left. Coming from the guy who tingles when Obama speaks, its hardly a startling revelation. My next thought was this has to be as fine an example of understatement as any I have ever seen. The media does not merely lean left in this country. They lean so far left and have done so for so long that their left legs are shorter than their right legs.  They have been so genetically altered by environment and breeding that they can for the most part no longer walk across level ground without walking in a circle. A circle to the left of course.

Last week on the NBC program the Jimmy Fallon show they introduced  Republican candidate for the presidency Michelle Bachmann with the song  " Lyin' Ass Bitch " . Later, the shows drummer Ahmir " Questlove " Thompson apparently the gentleman responsible for the songs selection said " The performance was a tongue-in-cheek and spur of the moment decision. The show was not aware of it and I feel bad if her feelings were hurt. That was not my intention, ". The problem with that defense is that he tweeted before the show this tweet.... " late night walkon song devotees: you love it when we snark: this next one takes the cake. ask around cause i aint tweeting title. " ... A little left Mr.Matthews ....really

P.S. Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson is a ardent Obama supporter and has contributed to his campaign

Occupy Wall Street To Return

Like most people I paid scant attention to Occupy Wall Street for the first several weeks after it was birthed by Adbusters a Canadian group of liberal malcontents. At the time it seemed to me to be an odd export from our neighbors to our north but I figured that they had also given us Molson and sometimes you have to take the good along with the bad and it evened out.We got to drink their beer and in exchange we took a few of their hippies who had been looking for a purpose.

Well for the first few weeks it looked as though we had gotten the better of that trade. The hippies were in their element, hanging out, banging on bongos, creating shortages in the local cannabis trade and making friends with the park pigeons and we continued to drink Molson and everyone was happy. Then the press for reasons which eluded me at the time decided to take notice and the rest as they say was history. It didn't take long for their ranks to blossom with members of every liberal cause which had sprung from their oh so fertile minds over the last 50 years. The Che T - shirt clan, the free my cannabis crowd, the 9 - 11 truthers, communists, anarchists, the homeless, felons, the anti Semites,  Michael Moore and the unions, they all came. I heard rumors that Ron Paul supporters had even shown up at several of their encampments.or maybe they had been there first. In any case it wasn't long before the pigeons had decamped, Manhattan was experiencing plumbing problems and the police were on overtime. I remember thinking to myself at the time and after all the new additions that nothing good was likely to come of this as I had noticed over the years that often when large groups of angry liberals get together bad things happen. 5,000 arrests later I still think that.

It didn't take me long to realize that the OWS movement was just a branch office of the re elect Obama effort supported by the usual suspects in the media and unions. The single unifying theme once you cut threw the babble was the rich were evil and to save the nation we had to have more of their money and they were mean for not giving it to us. Which coincidentally was what Obama and the unions were saying. I'm not saying that it was Obama himself with his hand up the back of their shirt making their mouths move but I'll bet he knows the guy who was doing it.  In any case the movement seems to be withering , the weather, arrests and time taking their toll but the Obama campaign has it in their back pocket and I suspect with the event of warmer weather and the looming election the Obama campaign sometime in the Spring or early Summer will trot out the shell of the OWS movement restaff it with good union members and have it up and running for the election
