CE agent shot in northern Hidalgo County

An agent for ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations was shot Tuesday morning in Texas while conducting surveillance in a criminal investigation, a spokeswoman from the agency said.H/T Gateway Pundit
The shooting occurred in Hidalgo County, Texas, which is near the Mexican border and a known drug-trafficking route.
The agent, identified as Kelton Harrison, is listed in stable condition at a nearby hospital.
Harrison, 32, had undergone surgery for two gunshot wounds to the abdomen, the spokeswoman said. He was shot shortly before 4 a.m. while driving off road in an unmarked SUV.
A reporter for The Monitor said Harrison was placed in an ambulance and rushed to the McAllen Medical Center at speeds of up to 100 mph.
The scene was described as a remote and brushy area and was packed with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and an investigation is ongoing, the report said.
