Ghosts Walk The Land

It seems that the dead have been playing hell in Nebraska politics. I don't mean in a Chicago democrat kind of way where on every election day the dead are brought back to life by local democrats to have their voice's heard. I mean that once again last night Sarah Palin rose from the grave and yelled BOO ....  scaring the hell out of democrats of all stripes and Republican party leaders. Palin endorsed a conservative woman running for the Senate in Nebraska and in what all admit was a stunning upset Deb Fisher won. Before Palin's endorsement she was not even on the radar but in a little over a week she went from a barely there to winner. Was it Palin's endorsement  ....  * SHRUG * ... there is no way to prove it but a case that surpasses beyond a reasonable doubt can be made.

The liberals have been writing Palin's epitaph since before the 2008 election had ended in what was  I suspect a fervent wish more than any belief that it would actually happen. Establishment Republicans have just been wishing she would go away as she has upset their apple cart more than once. In any case it seems Palin took a bite out of the asses of both liberals and the go along to get along Republican establishment. The liberals fear Palin because she has become the fulcrum of conservative thought and she with the grassroots has pushed the Republican party to the right and continues to nudge both the House and Senate to the right with every election cycle making the liberal agenda more and more difficult to achieve. The Republican party high rollers fear her because they honestly believe that the way to keep and maintain power is to be more like their opponents than to stand for conservative principle. A pox on both their houses.
