WILKES-BARRE - A 14-year-old boy walking home from the Catholic Youth Center
was shot and killed on Hill Street tonight, according to Luzerne County District
Attorney Stefanie Salavantis.
Salavantis, who arrived later at the crime scene, said she could not release
any more information at this time because an investigation is continuing and not
all of the victim's family has been notified.

WILKES-BARRE - Police have issued an alert for a suspect in the shooting of a
teenage boy on Hill Street this evening.
The 14-year-old boy walking home from the Catholic Youth Center was shot and
killed on Hill Street tonight, according to Luzerne County District Attorney
Stefanie Salavantis.
At 9:17 p.m., Luzerne County 911 put out a BOLO – be on the lookout – for the
suspect and suspect vehicle involved in the shooting.
The vehicle is an older model burgundy Ford Taurus with two individuals. It
was last seen on Park Avenue in Wilkes-Barre and involved in a fatal shooting in
the 100 block of Hill Street around 7:20 p.m.
The suspect is a black male with a thin build, approximately 5’10” with a
light beard and wearing a black hooded top or hoodie.
The suspect is considered armed and dangerous
